5 Fun Gender Reveal Party Guessing Games

One of the most fun parts of being pregnant is finding out your baby’s gender – and telling your friends and family. More and more expectant parents are hosting gender reveal parties, which may be held on their own or combined with baby showers. Whichever option you choose, be sure to include some fun activities for your guests, such as these gender reveal guessing games! Your friends and family will have fun trying to predict your baby’s gender, and maybe even winning a prize for being right.

Balloons and Darts

Here's a super fun idea for revealing your baby’s gender, especially if the weather is nice (although you could do this indoors as well). Attach lots of balloons to a board or wall – only one of which is filled with pink or blue confetti. Let your guests take turns throwing darts at the balloons until the confetti (along with your baby’s gender) is revealed.

Guest Predictions

Display a chalkboard or dry erase board and draw two columns: one for boy, one for girl. Let guests indicate their predictions with tally marks in the corresponding column. You can also provide pink and blue ribbons or clothes pins for guests to wear to show their guess. Near the end of the party, announce the baby’s gender and give out small prizes to the guests who predicted correctly.

Scavenger Hunt

To surprise a special person (even mom or dad!) with the baby’s gender, create a scavenger hunt. Write a series of clues on cards that the person has to solve to find the next card; at the end of the hunt, hide something that reveals the gender, such as a cake or balloon in pink or blue.

Gender Reveal Cupcakes

Cupcakes make great party food, so what better way to reveal your baby’s gender to your friends and family? Bake cupcakes with secret pink or blue middles so that when your guests bite into them, they find out whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Alternately, you could place something pink or blue in the middle of just one cupcake and then have fun seeing which guest finds the special cupcake!

Gender Reveal Piñata

Piñatas aren’t just for kids’ parties! Here’s a fun and easy way to make one yourself (although you can save time by buying one from a party store). Fill it with pink or blue candy and let your guests have a ball trying to break it open, revealing the color of the candy inside (and whether you’re having a boy or girl).

Any of these ideas could be used to surprise guests with the baby’s gender or even to surprise mom and dad themselves. Gender reveal guessing games are tons of fun whether you play them at a small family gathering or a huge, go-all-out gender reveal party! With a little planning and preparation, you’ll be on your way to having the gender reveal party your friends will be talking about for years to come.
